MINI Cooper S

 

The new MINI has been completely re-designed. It now has a new British-built engine, new front and rear suspension and new six speed manual transmission. There's also a host of innovations, with extra safety and security features as standard.

A punchy engine, crisp transmission and lively acceleration make the MINI Cooper S an all-round star. And with cutting edge suspension, low ground clearance and precise go-kart handling, you're guaranteed as much fun as mechanically possible.

Specification

The powerplant in the MINI Cooper S has a twin-scroll turbocharger (a first for a small-hatch) delivering lightning performance in any gear, at any speed. It even has an Overboost function which kicks up torque to 260 Nm, for even more blistering acceleration when overtaking or pulling away (or any excuse you can think of really).

The perfect match for the turbocharged engine is the new Getrag six-speed gearbox, with synchronised reverse for even slicker gear changes. And as of 2007 you'll also have the option of six-speed auto, which adapts torque and power to give you all the thrilling sportiness you expect from a MINI.
